Charlotte Staub Thomas began her career in botanical art with the publication of the book Common to this Country: Botanical Discoveries of Lewis and Clark (Artesan 2003). She painted 25 of the plants for the book. She has since taught workshops at the U.S. Botanic Garden, N.Y. Botanical Garden, Ringling School of Art and Design and other venues. Her work is in the collection of the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation, Garden Clubs of America, and many private collections, and has been in one-man shows at the New York Botanical Garden, Missouri Botanical Garden, Smith College, and South Florida Museum among others. She is on the Board of Directors of the American Society of Botanical Artists (ASBA).
