Promote public awareness and appreciation of historical and contemporary botanical art.
The society educates through exhibits and educational programs.
In 2005, under the leadership of Olivia Marie Braida-Chiusano, the Florida Society of Botanical Artists was founded. Olivia created the botanical art certification program at the Ringling School of Art & Design where she taught. She encouraged her students to become members of American Society of Botanical Artists and helped them form their own group in Florida. In October of 2007 the group was granted chapter status in the ASBA. The FSBA is open to all artists and others interested in advancing the study and practice of botanical art.
